And the Shutters Open...

Today was a 98 kms club ride - average speed 29.7 kph. It was for me the hardest so far and the most enjoyable...

There were about 20 of us and our route took us through lots of little villages that all seemed to have something going on - must be the spring weather as  people were every where and there was a "fête" like atmosphere - great fun...

The cycle club are starting to accept me and some even call me "tu" so I know I'm getting there - helps that I like to climb hills and even pass a few of them (gotta like that!) along the way.

The lifestyle has definitely changed in the last week, people at sidewalk cafes, the older folk hanging out on the corner chatting to one another and lots activity happening so I can only imagine what the summer months will bring...

After according to the locals an "exceptionnellement froid" (unusually cold) winter where everything is closed up tight to keep the heat in, it's nice to see the "Shutters Open".
