Spring Arrives At Chez Passet...

Spring has arrived and Chez Passet is waking up after a harsh winter. I’ve already had to cut the lawn twice and now we’re busy with Di’s vegetable garden, planting for the summer (as well as painting and landscaping, there’s always something to do…).

The weather has been fantastic for the past couple of weeks, 23-27°C has made it perfect cycling conditions (well, almost as you can see from the video). I’ve been out exploring some of the lower Cols and finding it amazing that I can access these areas so early in the season.

I’m starting to think about the CycloSportives that are coming up this summer, the two big events for me will be La Pyrénéenne (www.lapyreneenne.a3w.fr) and the Etape du Tour (www.letapedutour.com/ET2/us/the-route.html). Trying to figure out just how to prepare for them, as they will be two of the toughest rides that I will have done so far. I’m riding with the “senior” group in the Lourdes Cycle Club once a week who are pushing me very hard and it’s good to be accepted as they are strong riders and like to have a laugh as well…

Planning a 5 day cycle ride to the coast next month that should get me ready for the big events.
